C. Elmer Carter Jr.

November 25th, 2011

Hale Trailer proudly and respectfully honors the life of C. Elmer Carter Jr., uncle to Facilities Manager, Dan Carter, and his wife, Joyce Carter, who works in rental admin. Elmer, age 102, went to be with his Lord on November 22nd of this year.

Elmer was a veteran of World War II, having served with distinction as Regimental Sergeant in the U.S. Army. Elmer was under the command of well-known generals Patton, Eisenhower, Bradley, and Clark. His service earned him six Battle Stars for participation in the battles of North Africa, Sicily, Naples, Rome, the Po Valley, and the Northern Apennines.

Though Elmer’s name may not be written in history books like the names of the famous generals he served under, Elmer is recognized as a true patriot and selfless hero here at Hale.

Though we may have lost his physical presence, Elmer’s legacy continues in the hearts of his loved ones and all those he touched throughout his heroic life.

Thank you to Wiley Mission for providing the below article highlighting Elmer’s life:
